Top Reasons to Hire a Oakdale, NY Mold Removal Company
Mold needs just three ingredients to thrive: moisture, warmth, and darkness. As long as those conditions are met, mold will not only survive; it will thrive. At the first sign of mold growth, to keep the damage to a minimum, removing the substance is a must. If you’re a self-proclaimed DIY enthusiast, you may be thinking about doing the job yourself; however, it’s important to note that some jobs are better left to a professional, and mold removal is one of those jobs.
Before you grab your cleaning supplies and pull on your work clothes and gloves, here’s a look at some great reasons why you should forego the DIY approach and hire a professional Oakdale, NY mold removal company instead.
Mold Removal is Complex
Mold removal is a much bigger deal and a lot more complex than you might realize. A lot of people view mold as being unsightly, and while that is certainly true, mold growth is more than just a cosmetic issue. The part you can see is just the tip of the iceberg; it can be embedded deep in tile grout or sheetrock, for example.
In order to successfully eliminate it, you have to get down to its roots, and that can be quite challenging. A professional Oakdale, NY mold removal company will have the knowledge and experience that’s needed to deliver reliable results.
When it comes to something as important as mold remediation, you don’t want to settle for anything less than exceptional results. A credible Oakdale, NY mold removal company will have the knowledge and experience and will have access to the most advanced tools and cutting-edge technologies to fully eliminate the mold growth from your Suffolk County home.
Mold spores can be hazardous to your health. As you attempt to eliminate it, those spores will be released and will become airborne, and breathing in those spores can have adverse effects on your health. Exposure to mold spores isn’t the only safety concern; mold removal may require accessing precarious locations, and as such, there’s a chance that you could suffer injuries. An experienced Oakdale, NY mold removal company will know exactly how to mitigate these hazards and will employ all of the necessary safety protocols.
While it might seem like DIY mold remediation will cost less than hiring a professional, in reality, the opposite is usually true. In the event that you make a mistake or suffer an injury, you could be looking at unexpected expenses; not to mention the fact that you’ll need to purchase the tools and equipment, and if you fail to successfully eliminate the mold, more widespread damage could occur.
A reputable Oakdale, NY mold removal company will be fully insured and will pay for any issues that may arise; plus, they’ll have access to necessary tools and equipment, and they’ll ensure successful results. These factors combined mean that hiring a pro will cost a lot less than DIY mold removal.

Oakdale is a hamlet in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 7,974 at the 2010 census. Oakdale is in the Town of Islip. It has been home to Gilded Age mansions, the South Side Sportsmen’s Club, and the main campus of Dowling College. It is now home to Connetquot River State Park Preserve.
Oakdale was founded around two Native American trade routes, where Sunrise Highway and Montauk Highway currently lie. Oakdale was part of the royal land grant given to William Nicoll, who founded Islip Town in 1697. Local historian Charles P. Dickerson wrote in 1975 that Oakdale’s name appeared to come from a Nicoll descendant in the mid-19th century. The community includes: St. John’s Episcopal Church, built in 1765, is the third oldest church on Long Island.
The community originated with a tavern owned by Eliphalet (Liff) Snedecor in what is now Connetquot River State Park Preserve. Soon after its founding in 1820, Snedecor’s Tavern began drawing New York bluebloods and business barons who wined and dined in remote joy when they weren’t fishing and hunting nearby. ‘Liff’s food is as good as his creek’, a magazine writer declared in 1839 referring to the food and Connetquot River. The writer added: ‘and the two are only second to his mint juleps and champagne punch; whoever gainsays either fact deserves hanging without benefit of clergy.’
In 1866, as the railroad reached the area, Liff’s wealthy patrons formed the South Side Sportsmen’s Club, and soon the race was on to see who could create the most superb spread in the thick forests adjoining Great South Bay. The most prominent were built by William K. Vanderbilt, grandson of railroad magnate Cornelius Vanderbilt; Frederick G. Bourne, president of the Singer Sewing Machine Co., and Christopher Robert II, an eccentric heir to a sugar fortune. Meanwhile, William Bayard Cutting, a lawyer, financier and railroad man, built his estate next door in Great River, New York which had once been west Oakdale.
